Back to Driving Test Preparation

Test Ready

Six hours of test preparation plus use of the car on the day. For learners with a test date booked who want the run-up and the test itself handled together. Free pickup and drop-off.

What's in this package

  • Test Preparation Lessons

    5 hours of lessons

  • Test Day Package

    1 lesson

This package covers the whole run-up to your NSW driving test — the practice beforehand and the car on the day, arranged as one thing rather than four separate bookings.

Six hours in total. Five hours of test preparation in the weeks before, then a final hour on test morning as your warm-up, with the car provided for the assessment.

How the six hours split

Test preparation lessons

5 hours

In the weeks before your test

Warm-up drive on test day

1 hour

Immediately before the test

The five hours are yours to split as you like — five 60-minute lessons, or three 90-minute ones plus a 60, or whatever fits around school and work. The final hour is fixed to test morning and comes with use of the car.

What the preparation covers

  • Manoeuvres — reverse park, parallel park, three-point turn, kerbside stop

  • Observation — head checks and mirror use, made visible enough for the examiner to see

  • Speed and position — holding the limit, following distance, lane discipline

  • Decisions — gap selection at roundabouts, intersections and lane changes

  • Test-area roads — practice around the centre you're booked at

  • Independent driving — following directions without prompting

Where the time goes depends on what you actually need. If your parallel parking is already sound, we won't spend an hour on it.

Test day

  1. Picked up from home, in good time.

  2. An hour on the roads around the test centre — settles the nerves, gets you back into the car.

  3. Dropped at the centre with time to spare.

  4. The car is provided, registered and insured, for the assessment.

  5. Driven home afterwards, whatever the result.

Bring your NSW learner licence, your logbook if you're under 25, and your test booking confirmation. Missing documents is the most common reason a test gets cancelled at the counter, and the test fee isn't refunded when that happens.

Which test centres

The car is available for tests at Blacktown, Castle Hill, St Marys, Richmond, Glenmore Park and Merrylands. Tell us which one you're booked at and the preparation lessons will be run on those roads.

Timing

The package is valid for 6 weeks from purchase, which is built around a test date rather than open-ended learning. Buy it once your test is booked, not before — six weeks goes quickly, and the preparation is worth more close to the date.

The goal is not just clearing the test. The goal is to drive around safely.

An honest read before you go in

Five hours of preparation will show fairly quickly whether you're ready. If you aren't, you'll be told — with enough notice to move the test rather than sit one you're likely to fail. Rebooking costs less than failing.

Before you buy

You need a current NSW learner licence, and if you're under 25, your logbook hours complete before you can sit the test. Everything runs in an automatic car. The package is for one person and can't be split.

What's included

  • 5 hours of test preparation

Split into 60, 90 or 120-minute lessons however suits you, in the weeks before your test.
  • Use of the car for the test

Registered, insured automatic, presented for the assessment. Nothing for you to arrange.
  • Practice on your test-centre roads

Lessons run around the centre you're booked at, so the area isn't new on the day.
  • Warm-up drive on test morning

An hour behind the wheel before you go in, so you're not walking in cold.
